Excel  Introduction to Excel is a 6 hour class course designed to acquaint students with the basics of spreadsheet operation. Students will learn to create spreadsheets, input and edit data, build formulas, evaluate information, and create charts and polished spreadsheets.  Students will use MS Excel as the operative spreadsheet program. 

 

COURSE DATA

Class meets Tuesday 6 to 8 PM.  Additional lab time will be required.         

 

MATERIALS NEEDED

Storage media: either floppy disc, zip disc or flash drive.

 COURSE OBJECTIVES

Academic Achievement: Students will demonstrate an understanding of spreadsheet design and manipulation using MS Excel through in-class assignments and homework projects.

 

Critical Thinking: Students will learn to make appropriate decisions about the content and aesthetics of a spreadsheet report.

 

Technological application: Students will practice using MS Excel to develop spreadsheets and formulate information.

MEANS OF ACHIEVING COUSE OBJECTIVES

Computer Lab Work: Learning Excel to create spreadsheets, homework assignments.

EVALUATION

Evaluations of students’ assignments, homework assignments.

 

REGARDING ABSENCES

If you are going to be absent call me and let me know ahead of time.  If you miss a class you are required to make up any homework due and if possible, turn it in on time.  Failure to do this, without calling to make arrangements, will result in penalties with your grade.  Missing more than one class will require you to drop the course. If you have any questions, please call me for more information.  New concepts will be taught each session.
